Rendering in Colchester & Essex.

Rendering done well lifts a property and protects it for decades. Done badly it cracks, stains and traps damp. We use silicone and monocouche systems for a self-coloured, low-maintenance finish — or traditional sand-and-cement where the property calls for it.

Our Process

How a rendering job runs

  1. Step 1

    Substrate prep

We hack off any blown render, fit beads, mesh corners and apply a base coat where needed.

  2. Step 2

    Base coat

Two-coat base with embedded alkali-resistant mesh — the foundation of a crack-free finish.

  3. Step 3

    Top coat

Self-coloured silicone or monocouche applied wet-on-wet, ruled flat, then sponged or scraped to the chosen texture.

  4. Step 4

    Detailing

Bell-cast at ground level, drip beads under sills, clean stop-beads at junctions.

Frequently asked

Rendering — your questions answered

Silicone or monocouche — which is better?+

Silicone is more flexible and breathable — usually our default. Monocouche is heavier and best on solid masonry.

How long does render last?+

A well-applied silicone system lasts 25–30 years before needing anything more than a wash.

Can render cover existing pebble-dash?+

Yes — we can overcoat with a base coat and mesh, provided the existing dash is sound.
